A Different Kind of Security Conversation

Security is no longer defined solely by gates, guards and physical presence. In an increasingly connected world, effective security also depends on communication, collaboration, information and technology. More importantly, it depends on people and institutions being willing to work together.

Building the Bridge

That spirit was evident on 8 September 2026, when Mr. Edwin Peprah, Managing Director of MYMAIGUARD Smart Security, was formally invested as a Patron of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), FCT Command. The engagement, held at the PCRC Office, FCT Police Command, opposite the old CBN in Garki, Abuja, was led by the Chairman, Dr. Rufus Ebegba.

From Recognition to Responsibility

The investiture followed recognition of Mr. Peprah’s contributions to security initiatives within the policing environment, including the provision of security cameras to police facilities. The presentation of the Patron’s sash and certificate transformed that recognition into a formal responsibility.

Where Technology Meets Community Security

For MYMAIGUARD, security is increasingly about giving people greater visibility and control over their environments. Cameras, connected devices and other smart-security tools can complement existing security structures by improving monitoring, awareness and access to information when it matters.

A Shared Commitment to Service

In his remarks, Mr. Peprah expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him and his honour at being selected for the position. He also highlighted the alignment between PCRC’s community-focused mandate and MYMAIGUARD’s broader commitment to security. He assured the PCRC leadership that he would approach the role with commitment and a willingness to contribute to meaningful collaboration.

The Road Ahead

Nigeria’s security conversation continues to evolve. Technology is becoming increasingly relevant, but technology alone cannot solve every security challenge. Likewise, policing cannot be separated from the communities it is intended to protect. The future requires collaboration between institutions, communities, technology providers and individuals.

A Partnership with Purpose

The investiture of Mr. Edwin Peprah as Patron of PCRC FCT Command therefore represents an opportunity to bring together community engagement, private-sector support and smart-security technology in pursuit of a shared objective: safer communities.

A Final Thought

Perhaps the most important message from the engagement is simple: security is strongest when it is treated as a shared commitment. When institutions build bridges, communities participate, and technology is deployed thoughtfully, the conversation moves from reacting to incidents toward creating stronger systems of awareness, preparedness and protection.
