Smart Lock Installation Guide
This guide covers fitting a compatible smart lock on a standard door. If your door is a metal or Israeli multi-point security door, book a survey first — fitting differs and forcing it can damage the door.
What you need
- Screwdriver set
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- The lock's template and fixings
- Charged phone for the app
- 1
Confirm compatibility
Check door thickness, backset, and whether your door is wood, metal, or multi-point. Match these against the lock's spec before drilling anything.
- 2
Mark and prepare
Use the supplied template to mark hole positions. Double-check alignment on both sides of the door before making any cuts.
- 3
Fit the lock body
Mount the exterior unit, feed the cable through, then attach the interior unit and the mounting plate. Do not over-tighten.
- 4
Install batteries and test
Insert batteries, then test the latch and deadbolt several times before enrolling any credentials.
- 5
Provision access
Add fingerprints, PINs, or cards in the app. Give each person their own credential so access can be revoked individually later.
